Jeeshan's Kidney Transplant
Meet Jeshan (36yr). He and his wife, Ferozah, spent years working side by side in the garment industry, raising their two children, a 13-year-old son and a 7-year-old daughter, on the quiet strength of two steady incomes.
Since 2015, Jeshan has been fighting kidney disease. He managed it for years, kept working, kept going. But in December 2025, his condition turned critical, and he was hospitalized for 11 days. He came home a little better - until March 2026, when his health collapsed again. This time it was worse: both of his kidneys had to be surgically removed on April 20th. He has been in the hospital ever since, now living on hemodialysis, unable to work.
Here is where the story turns. His mother, Roshanara Begum, did not hesitate. She has gone through the legal process and sworn an affidavit before the court in Dhaka, formally and willingly consenting to donate one of her own kidneys to save her son's life - no conditions, no compensation, just a mother giving her child a chance to live.
The total cost of the transplant, hospital stay, and follow-up care comes to about 15,00,000 BDT. The family has managed to gather 5,00,000 so far, but that is running out fast, just keeping up with daily hospital expenses while Jeshan waits for surgery. They still need roughly 10,00,000 BDT more, and time is running out.
A mother has already given everything she can. Now it's our turn to help carry the rest. If you're looking for a place to direct your zakat or sadaqah, this is exactly the kind of need it's meant for — a family in real hardship, unable to bear this cost on their own.
